Yesterday I arrived in Vancouver and went through team processing, Aka I got 4 duffel bags of Ralph Lauren and Nike gear. I am so overwhelmed and outside myself right now I can only see now how God can bless us for going through years of trials and hard times. A good part of my life I have been very lonely and depressed. The life of an athlete is not as it seams, long seasons traveling with the same people for 6 moths none stop and being in a different location every week adds up. It adds up on top of the stress of competition and meeting everyone's expectations mainly sponsors. Surly there is fame and great amazing times when we are winning but a worldly medal only lasts so long. The fame of a worldly medal fades off a quickly as a morning frost. I have found the only lasting legacy and fame comes from faith in the Lord and when people see you doing things in his name. All together my message is this: Times of suffering and struggles may go unnoticed to the people of the world. No one seems to see when you do the right thing and nothing good comes from it. Well God notices and in my case I can see that he chose to let me go through hard times in order to grow me for times like this, times so I do not become complacent and let his blessings and good times go unnoticed.
Pain is an amazing thing because so much can be learned from it and if you let it, it can be the greatest blessing of you life.
I am out of my body right now with excitement this is the greatest day of my life and words can not explain it. Last night when we hauled a huge cart around with all the Olympic gear in it I could not help but let the tears flow. All my life I have fought and struggled through sadness and depression so that God can show his amazing grace and blessing here and now at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics !!!!
I would go through 10 times the fight for this blessing !!
praise God
